QUICK OVERVIEW

Mystic ink mugs (aka disappearing ink mugs) are a heat sensitive ink that becomes transparent when hot liquid is added. On a hot beverage mug it will cause the imprint to change as soon as it's heated. Mystic color-changing mugs (or "magic color-changing mugs"), are actually more accurately described as disappearing ink mugs or vanishing ink mugs.

These are very popular as a sold promotional or fundraiser mug because they are unique and are easy to sell. The are very popular as college gifts, veterinary college mugs, school fundraisers, etc. Mystic Color is applied after the (non-changing) ceramic imprint colors have been imprinted and baked on. It can be used to hide all or part of the permanent imprint so that it will become visible only after the hot beverage is poured in.

Disappearing ink are recommended hand wash only.

HOW IT WORKS
1) Decide your base imprint. This is the part that is COVERED UP by the black mystic ink. This part of the image will show up as solid black when the mug is room temperature
2) Decide what part will be printed with the black mystic ink. This can be a black silhouette with nothing underneath, or covering some or all of the permanent imprint. Magic disappearing ink cannot change one thing into another. For example it cannot change a tree to a house, unless the house is completely hidden originally by the tree.

The examples in the photos better explain the process. Mystic color may be used on any color mug, however, the effect is more dramatic on white or off-white mugs. Pricing below is for mystic vanishing ink over a 1 color imprint on our classic white coffee mug.
